Lennart Nielsen (any pronouns) explores the connection between performance and musical theater, with the aim of expanding the visual and formal language of classical opera and making it accessible to a younger audience.
Their focus lies on the sensitive portrayal of violence, queer aesthetics, and electronic music.

During their teaching degree studies at the University of the Arts in Berlin, they took on several roles in collaboration with the Hanns Eisler School of Music, including the role of Kilian in Der Freischütz and Dr. Blind in Die Fledermaus. During this time, Nielsen also initiated their first independent directing project titled Über die Weise von Liebe und Tod. Since 2021, Lennart Nielsen has been studying musical theater directing at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater.

As a member of the collective Lagerregal, Nielsen is regularly featured in various institutions and festivals within the German-speaking techno scene. In their work, they place particular emphasis on collective work processes, anti-hierarchical practices, and nonviolent communication.
